Please read these instructions carefully before you submit your application. Winners will be notified on or before May 1, 2026.
Key points to know before you apply
- No AI allowed. Your application must be your own work. Have a real person proofread it for grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Any use of AI-generated text will be treated as plagiarism and will disqualify the application.
- This is not a writing contest. We care about content more than clever prose. Use your application to show who you are: your struggles and triumphs, your educational background, and your professional goals. Be honest and specific.
- Don’t apply if you are committed to attending only one specific university. If you will attend only that school regardless of any scholarship, please do not submit an application. While academic fit is important, the selection committee considers multiple factors when matching recipients to a school or schools.
- Boot Camp is mandatory. New scholarship recipients are required to attend an all-day Boot Camp on Sunday, June 1, in Birmingham, AL. If you cannot attend that event, please do not apply.
What happens after you apply
- Notifications: You will be informed of award decisions on or before May 1, 2026.
- Verification: If selected, you will be asked to provide documentation to support the information on your application.
- Records: All correspondence and any award agreements will be generated from the personal information you submit, so make sure your application is accurate and complete.
