Students and families — read this carefully. Below are two separate Massachusetts Elks scholarship opportunities: the MA Elks Scholarship and the MA Elks CTE Scholarship. Each has its own application and deadlines; full details are included with each application.

What you need to know (quick summary)
- MA Elks Scholarship (traditional, for four‑year undergraduate study): full application due to your local Elks Lodge by January 15.
- MA Elks CTE Scholarship (career & technical education): full application due to your local Elks Lodge by March 1.

Purpose and scope
- The Massachusetts Elks Association awards grants through Massachusetts Elks Scholarship, Inc. to help deserving students pursue a bachelor’s degree at a four‑year college.
- Grants are intended for full‑time, undergraduate study leading to a bachelor’s degree. They are not available for night school, professional school, vocational school, graduate study, or part‑time enrollment.

Eligibility highlights
- Applicants must be endorsed by the Massachusetts Elks Lodge in whose jurisdiction the applicant resides, or by the lodge of which the applicant’s parent/guardian is a member.
- Applicants must be graduates of accredited high schools.
- No distinction will be made based on race, color, creed, or gender.
- A complete application (including all supporting documents) must be filed before a request for assistance will be considered.
- Applications must be signed and dated by the Exalted Ruler or Secretary and the Lodge Scholarship Chairman of the appropriate B.P.O. Elks Lodge.

Renewals and filing
- Scholarships may be renewed annually, but renewals are not automatic. Continued eligibility depends on demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic performance.
- Applications must be filed every year.

Selection criteria
The Massachusetts Elks Scholarship directors will consider:
- Academic standing
- Demonstrated family financial need
- Evidence of leadership and good citizenship
Note: Awards are made statewide with attention to geographic balance.

How to proceed
1. Read the entire application and the instructions on the reverse side before you begin.
2. Complete the application and attach all required supporting documents. Incomplete files will not be considered.
3. Get the required lodge signatures (Exalted Ruler or Secretary and Lodge Scholarship Chairman).
4. Submit the full application packet to your local Elks Lodge by the deadline (Jan. 15 for the MA Elks Scholarship; Mar. 1 for the MA Elks CTE Scholarship).
