Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Association of Fundraising Professionals Rhode Island Chapter
We are pleased to announce the availability of a $1,000 scholarship, intended for a Rhode Island high school senior who has shown an exceptional commitment to civic and community support. This scholarship seeks to recognize and reward a student who has demonstrated a strong interest in, and active involvement with, volunteer and philanthropic causes. To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a Rhode Island resident entering their senior year and be on track to graduate within the same year the application is submitted.
The primary objective of this scholarship is to provide financial support for the recipient's higher education pursuits. Moreover, it aims to foster future leadership in the realms of volunteerism and philanthropy, thereby encouraging a continued commitment to community service and charitable endeavors.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The recipient of the Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- A proven dedication to enhancing the quality of life for others in Rhode Island, as evidenced by active participation in volunteer and philanthropic activities.
- An ability to inspire and motivate others to engage in community service and fundraising efforts for local needs.
- A significant personal involvement in a specific non-profit community organization (e.g., homeless shelters, food banks, hospitals, initiatives assisting the handicapped and others in need, and neighborhood projects), demonstrating a deep commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy.
