Rainbow Chamber Foundation Scholarship

The Sacramento Rainbow Chamber Foundation Scholarship Award is designed to inspire and support students from the LGBTQ+ community and their allies in the Greater Sacramento area. The aim is to assist these students in their pursuit of higher education or vocational training.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Residency or school attendance in one of the following counties: Sacramento, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Joaquin, Sierra, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tuolumne, Yolo, or Yuba.
2. Enrollment in a college or a recognized vocational school by August 15th.
Award Details and Conditions:
The scholarship recipients will be informed via written communication or a phone call at the start of September. The Foundation will award a minimum of $10,000 in scholarships, with each scholarship being no less than $1,500 for a collegiate institution. The scholarship will be paid in a single installment, with the payment dates communicated at the time of the scholarship notification.
The Foundation reserves the right to display the recipients' photographs, names, goals, and objectives on its website. However, applicants can request confidentiality on their application without it affecting their chances of receiving the award. Those who choose to remain anonymous will not be identified at award ceremonies and their information will be withheld from the Foundation's website. The Foundation, however, cannot guarantee confidentiality beyond these measures.
Selection Process:
The Rainbow Chamber Foundation Scholarship Committee is responsible for the selection of the scholarship recipients. The selection will be based on the following criteria:
1. Life experiences
2. History of involvement with the LGBTQ+ community or related issues and activities
3. Quality of written expression.
