IME Becas/HACEMOS DFW Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation
The IME Becas/HACEMOS DFW Scholarship Program is a remarkable initiative aimed at supporting students in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex who are embarking on their postsecondary education journey. The scholarship amount varies based on the type of institution the student is attending. For those enrolled in a two-year institution, the scholarship is $1,000, while students attending a four-year institution are awarded $2,000.
The selection process for recipients is comprehensive and takes into account several factors. These include academic performance, financial need, leadership skills, involvement in school and community activities, work experience, and a clear articulation of career and educational goals. Additionally, any unusual personal or family circumstances are also considered.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Reside in a North Texas county, specifically within the Dallas Counties (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, and Rockwall) or the Fort Worth Counties (Hood, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise).
2. Be 25 years of age or younger as of the application deadline.
3. Be a high school graduate, currently enrolled undergraduate, or currently enrolled graduate school or master’s degree student.
4. Plan to enroll in an undergraduate, graduate, or master’s course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college/university located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
5. Plan to enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester in coursework for undergraduate or at least 9 credit hours per semester for graduate or master’s leading to a degree.
6. Have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
When applying, please ensure you have all the required materials:
1. An official school transcript, which must have a school seal and/or school signature to be considered valid. Transcripts marked as “unofficial”, “student copy”, or any other unofficial indicator will not be accepted.
2. Two recommendation letters, which can be either academic or professional.
3. A copy of your ID or other record with proof of DFW address to validate eligibility.
4. A YouTube video created based on the requirements given on the application. Please note that the video visibility should be set to Public or Unlisted. Videos set as Private will not be reviewed.
