Scholarship Sponsored by University of New Brunswick

Value: $75,000.00
Awards Available: 4
Deadline : Mar 01, 2026

Here’s a clearer, more teacher‑friendly version of the scholarship information. I’ve organized it so a student can quickly see what matters and what to do next.

Scholarship at a glance
- Field: Engineering (students in other programs should see the Currie Undergraduate Scholarship)
- Value: $75,000 (total per award, paid over the four‑year degree)
- Number available: Up to 4 awards
- Duration: 4 years
- Deadline to apply: March 1
- Effective for new recipients starting Fall 2025

Who is eligible
- Students entering a Bachelor of Engineering program straight from high school.
- Canadian citizens who are residents of one of the four Atlantic Provinces, as defined by each Provincial Government’s Student Financial Services guidelines.

What the Selection Committee is looking for
- Leadership potential and demonstrated leadership to date (school and extracurricular activities).
- Evidence that you have overcome barriers or difficult situations — this is required in the essay.
- Financial need is an important consideration in the selection process.

Essay requirement
- Submit a minimum 250‑word essay.
- Use the essay to show leadership, give specific examples, and describe any obstacles you have overcome and how you dealt with them.
- Be concrete — names of activities, roles held, outcomes, and what you learned are helpful to the committee.

How to apply
- Submit the required materials by March 1. Check the University’s scholarships webpage or admissions office for the exact application form and submission instructions.

Awarding authority
- The University awards the scholarship on the recommendation of the Currie Scholarship Selection Committee.

Note for non‑engineering students
- If you are entering a program other than Engineering, see the Currie Undergraduate Scholarship for details.

About the donor
- Established by Richard James Currie, O.C., O.N.B., C.B.H.F., M.B.A., D.Litt., P.Eng., Chancellor Emeritus of the University of New Brunswick.

If you’d like, I can help draft or review an essay that highlights leadership and overcoming challenges while keeping it concise and compelling.
