Missouri Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Missouri Broadcasters Association
The Missouri Broadcasters Association offers financial aid to Missouri students pursuing degrees in broadcast/digital media at either public or private higher education institutions. High school seniors intending to enroll in college can also apply, but they must provide evidence of enrollment before the scholarship money is disbursed. Applications must be submitted by January 15.
Eligibility Criteria
Every Applicant:
- Should be a resident of Missouri.
- Should be a student at a Missouri college, university, or accredited technical/trade school, or a high school senior who has gained admission to a Missouri higher education institution.
- Should be enrolled or intending to enroll in a broadcast/digital media or related program, which offers skills and knowledge relevant to a broadcast/digital media operation.
- Should be a full-time student for each semester the scholarship is granted. Full-time status necessitates enrollment in a minimum of 12 credit hours.
- Should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent, which must be sustained throughout the scholarship period.
Application Procedure
Include the Following:
- A filled-out application.
- Two recommendation letters.
- An essay not exceeding three pages. Refer to the application for the topics to be covered.
- A transcript indicating your current GPA. The transcript should cover the most recent semester/quarter.
- All materials must be submitted by the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Selection Method
The MBA selection panel will consider the following during its assessment:
- The applicant's course of study and career aspirations.
- Clarity of thought and expression.
- Recommendation letters.
- Participation in community and extracurricular activities.
- Financial necessity. (Although not a primary factor, applicants should provide details about their education funding.)
Financial Details
Several scholarships may be awarded each year, and the scholarship amount may vary. This scholarship can be renewed, provided the recipient continues to meet the eligibility criteria. Recipients must reapply each academic year to renew their scholarship.
