Value: $5,000.00
Awards Available: 20

Good news — if you’re interested in a career in manufacturing, you should consider applying for the 2025 Maine Manufacturing scholarship. You can begin your application at any time; final submissions are accepted November 1 through April 30 each year. How to apply - Click the “Student Scholarship Application” button on the website. That button opens the online, fillable application (available to students and instructors). - Your essay must be submitted as a Word document. Who this scholarship is for - Students who genuinely want to further their education in one of these fields: precision machining technology, manufacturing technology, welding, or engineering. - Recipients must be Maine residents and must have applied to — and been accepted into — a qualifying Fall program at a Maine college or university. What to include with your application (checklist) - Completed scholarship application form. - Copy of high school diploma or equivalent, or your expected graduation date and school name. - Copy of high school and/or post-secondary transcripts. - At least one letter of recommendation from someone who is not a family member (two letters preferred). - Essay (separate sheet, maximum one page, Word format): In your own words describe your goals, aspirations, and accomplishments. Explain how you decided on this career and why you believe you should receive the scholarship. About the program (short version) - The Manufacturers Association of Maine (MAME) runs the Maine Manufacturing Career and Training Foundation Education Fund and the Manufacturing Career Connection program. - These efforts aim to connect students’ interests to educational paths and to Maine’s evolving manufacturing industry — now high‑tech, high‑skilled, and high‑paying. - MAME also offers free student membership in addition to the scholarship program. A couple of teacher tips - Ask for recommendation letters early and pick referees who can speak to your work ethic or technical interests. - Keep the essay focused and specific — one page, clearly written, and saved as a Word file. If you want, I can help you draft or edit your essay before you submit it.
