The Foot Locker Scholar Athletes program is a prestigious initiative that recognizes and rewards student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess and exhibited strong leadership skills in sports, within their educational institutions, and in their communities.

Regardless of whether you're the star player or the most spirited team member, we are interested in hearing about how you've harnessed the skills you've developed in the locker room to make a significant, positive impact on the lives of those around you.

EVALUATION CRITERIA


Applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Exemplification of good sportsmanship and strong moral character. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are esteemed and respected members of their schools and communities. They have fostered strong relationships and will leave a lasting legacy among their peers, school administrators, and community members.


  • Demonstration of academic excellence. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are intellectually curious, set lofty academic goals, and excel in their studies.


  • Passion and commitment to empowering their community. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes have shown a significant commitment to enhancing the lives of others.


  • Confidence and enthusiasm in leadership. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes are not just role models by default. They are confident, honest, and passionate leaders who embrace challenges for the greater good.


  • Diversity in backgrounds. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes have unique life stories, hail from different places, harbor varied academic ambitions, and participate in a wide array of sports.


  • Embodiment of the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes spirit. Foot Locker Scholar Athletes share key attributes such as being proactive, highly motivated, inspiring, charismatic, honest, trustworthy, genuine, strong, and courageous.


    • AWARDS


    Twenty deserving Foot Locker Scholar Athletes will each be awarded a $20,000 college scholarship in recognition of their outstanding performance in academics, sports, and community service.

    ELIGIBILITY


    To be eligible for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program, applicants must:

  • Be entering college in the Fall of 2023 as a Freshman at a four-year institution for an undergraduate degree or a two-year or four-year community college.


  • Currently participate in high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports.


  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.


  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident (proof of citizenship and age will be required if selected).


  • Not be an employee, officer, or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate family of such an employee, officer, or director.
