The University of Alabama's Alumni Scholarship Program offers competitive scholarships that do not necessitate any prior association with the university or the National Alumni Association. The selection process for these scholarships is primarily based on the robustness of the "awards and experiences" section of the student's admission application. Therefore, in order to be eligible for any scholarship administered by the Alumni Scholarship Program, students must first gain admission to the University of Alabama. Following this, they must complete the Alabama Scholarship Award Manager (ASAM) scholarship application via the myBama.ua.edu portal. The deadline for this application is December 5.
It is important to note that under no circumstances will a scholarship be awarded based on unlawful criteria. This includes, but is not limited to, factors such as race, gender, or national origin.
The Alumni Association's flagship scholarship, the Crimson Scholarship, is a four-year scholarship that typically covers the cost of either in-state or out-of-state tuition. In addition to this, it provides an extra $3,500 per year, a $300 annual book grant, and a one-time $2,000 Study Abroad/Research Stipend. This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who have achieved a minimum ACT score of 32 or SAT score of 1420, a GPA of 3.8, and preferably rank in the top 2% of their senior class. Extensive leadership experience is also a key criterion for this scholarship.
