Gerald M. Starek Family Alumni Association Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of alumnus Gerald M. Starek (SJSU, class of 1963), accounting and finance students who demonstrate financial need have access to substantial support for their degrees. Mr. Starek — founder of Silicon Valley Group, Inc., a company that supplied automated wafer processing equipment to the semiconductor industry — remembers how affordable his SJSU education was and wants students today to have that same opportunity. These awards provide $8,000 per year and can be renewed for up to four years.
Who should consider this scholarship
- Students majoring in any program offered by the Accounting and Finance department.
- Full-time undergraduates with eligibility for need-based financial aid.
- Students who maintain at least a 2.75 GPA.
