Auger and Auger Disabled Scholar Award
Scholarship Sponsored by Auger and Auger Attorneys at Law
Auger & Auger Disabled Scholar Award — rewritten for students
Overview
Auger & Auger Accident and Injury Lawyers are offering the Annual Auger & Auger Disabled Scholar Award to support students with disabilities who are planning to pursue an undergraduate degree. As a personal injury firm, their attorneys often work with people and families dealing with serious injuries and disabilities; this scholarship is one way the firm gives back. The award is $1,000 (one award, once a year) to help with tuition and related college expenses.
Who should apply
- Current graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited college or university in the United States, or
- Current undergraduate students enrolled at an accredited U.S. institution.
- Minimum GPA: 2.8
- Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript.
Selection criteria
Recipients will be chosen based on academic merit and the strength of the application materials, especially the essay. The committee is looking for clear, thoughtful writing that explains your experience, perspective, and readiness for college.
Deadline
- Applications for the Fall award must be submitted by July 31.
Essay instructions
- Write one essay between 500 and 1,000 words.
- Choose one of the following prompts:
1) Describe a time when you overcame a challenge related to your disability to accomplish something meaningful or extraordinary.
2) Explain what you have learned from living with your disability and how those lessons have prepared you for college and for your goals after graduation.
A few final notes from a teacher’s point of view
Treat this like a college essay: be honest, specific, and reflective. Use concrete examples, explain what you learned, and show how the experience shaped your plans. Proofread carefully and make sure your transcript and any requested materials are included before you submit by July 31.
If you have questions about eligibility or what to include, check the scholarship page or contact the sponsoring firm for details. Good luck — this is a meaningful opportunity to share your story and get help with college costs.
