Boise State University Incoming Freshman Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Boise State University
Step One: Initiate Your Admission Process
Start your journey by submitting a comprehensive application. This will automatically make you eligible for a scholarship, without the need for an additional application. A comprehensive application comprises your admission application and your academic transcripts. Please ensure that Boise State Admissions receives all necessary materials by the deadline mentioned in Step Two.
Step Two: Adhere to the Deadline
- Deadlines for New and Transfer Residents
- Deadlines for New and Transfer Nonresidents
- Deadlines for Graduate Students
Those who are awarded automatic scholarships will be informed through their admission letter. Scholarships will be displayed in the Student Center three weeks after an admission decision has been made. Please refer to the 'Student Type' section at the top of this page for scholarship dates and deadlines specific to your student category.
To enhance your chances of securing additional funding, ensure you complete the FAFSA and the Boise State scholarship application. More information on these steps can be found in Steps Three and Four.
Step Three: Fill Out the FAFSA
The priority deadline for the fall semester is February 15, while for the spring semester, it is October 1. This applies to both the FAFSA and Federal Student Aid Estimator.
The final date to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year is June 30, 2025. However, the earlier you complete the FAFSA, the sooner your aid evaluation will take place. By completing the FAFSA and Boise State Scholarship Application, you become eligible for need-based scholarships and federal financial aid. If you do not wish to be considered for need-based scholarships or federal student aid, you may proceed to the next step.
Step Four: Fill Out the Boise State Scholarship Application
Complete the application to increase your chances of securing a Boise State University scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified through BroncoMail and all awards will be finalized by May 1.
The Boise State Scholarship Application becomes available in mid-November and most scholarship opportunities close by February 15.
- International students should complete the international student scholarship application. More details can be found on the international student scholarships page.
Step Five: Apply for State Scholarships
- This step can be skipped by nonresidents
Next Steps Idaho offers Idaho LAUNCH, an education and training grant program. This provides Idaho students a one-time opportunity to have 80% of the tuition and fees covered for select in-demand career programs, up to a maximum amount of $8,000.
