National Jewish Committee Eagle Scout Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by National Jewish Committee on Scouting
As an educator, I am delighted to acknowledge your remarkable achievement in reaching the apex of your Scouting journey. Your dedication and perseverance as a Scout, and more specifically as a Jewish Scout, is truly commendable. It's noteworthy to mention that among the major faith groups, the number of Jewish Scouts who attain the Eagle rank is relatively small. In light of this, the National Jewish Committee on Scouting extends its heartfelt congratulations and presents a certificate to Jewish Eagle Scouts like you, in recognition of your diligent efforts.
The National Jewish Committee on Scouting also provides scholarships to Eagle Scouts who best exemplify the qualities and qualifications outlined below. To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout troop, Varsity Scout team, or Venturing crew.
- Have been awarded the Eagle Scout Award.
- Maintain active membership in a synagogue and hold the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem.
- Have demonstrated practical citizenship in your synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community.
- Be enrolled in an accredited high school and be in your final year at the time of selection. However, an exception is made for Scouts whose Eagle Scout boards of review are held in the same year as their high school graduation. They may apply within that calendar year.
These criteria are designed to ensure that the scholarship recipients truly embody the spirit of Scouting and the values of their faith.
