From 2013 onwards, The National Space Club and Foundation has provided a student with the chance to deliver the main speech at the annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, a highly esteemed event in the space industry. To qualify, the student should be planning to embark on a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) sectors, display strong academic prowess, and have excellent public speaking skills.

Besides the honor of speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the chosen student will also be granted a scholarship worth $20,000. This scholarship is open to a U.S. citizen. It's available to high school seniors through to graduate students enrolled at an approved educational institution in the United States, who are committed to pursuing a career in the STEM sectors.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Both high school seniors and graduate students are eligible for the scholarship.
  • The candidate should be intent on pursuing a STEM career and plan to enroll in an accredited U.S. college or university for a course related to STEM, preferably with a focus on space.
  • The $20,000.00 scholarship must be utilized for the 2026-2027 academic year tuition fees.
  • The candidate must not have previously delivered a speech at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner.
