At P.L.A.Y., we have always been committed to fostering compassion towards animals in both our personal and professional lives. This commitment is reflected in our various initiatives, such as our direct work with local animal shelters and our Warm Bellies Initiative in partnership with the Petfinder Foundation, through which we donate products to animals in need. Animal welfare is not just a part of our business; it is at the heart of what we do.

We recognize that there are many young individuals who share our passion for helping animals in need. To encourage and support these young minds, P.L.A.Y. is proud to announce our seventh annual scholarship. A sum of $1,500 will be awarded to a graduating high school senior (2023-2024) who best embodies our core values.

Application Details:

This scholarship contest does not require any purchase and is void where prohibited.

The Contest:

Starting from 09/01/2023, P.L.A.Y. will publicize the Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship contest through various online and print media platforms.

Prizes:

1st Prize - A Scholarship worth $1,500

2nd Prize - $300 and a set of Warm Bellies Special Edition Chill Pads (10 beds) to be donated to an animal shelter of your choice

3rd Prize - $200 and a Garden Fresh plush toy set (5 toys) to be donated to the animal shelter of your choice

Please note that prizes can only be shipped to animal shelters within the 48 contiguous states of the U.S.

Eligibility:

The contest is open to U.S. residents who are full-time high school seniors. Each participant is allowed one submission. Immediate family members of P.L.A.Y. employees are not eligible to participate. All essay submissions must be received by 11:59 PM PT on Monday, February 26, 2024.

How To Enter:

To participate, complete the online application. Submit an essay detailing your volunteer efforts to help animals in need, describing how that involvement has influenced your life and community, or shaped your understanding of the importance of animal welfare. The deadline for essay submission is February 26, 2024. Please include photos with your essay submission.

While we appreciate your dedication to pet adoption and fostering, our scholarship focuses on a different aspect of your commitment to animal welfare. To understand what we are looking for, you can review the essays of our past scholarship winners online.

The essay should be between 500-1000 words. Submit your essay as a Word doc attachment to the provided link (available once the application process is open). The file name should be your full name, state, and date of birth (e.g., Chipper-Jones-GA-4-24-2003). Along with your essay, submit 2-3 photos of your volunteer efforts to help animals in need. You will also be required to provide your full name, date of birth, email address, postal address, the high school you are currently enrolled in, and a contact phone number.
