NCWIT Award For Aspirations in Computing High School Awards
Scholarship Sponsored by National Center for Women in Technology
The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing (AiC) High School Award is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon students in grades 9 through 12 who have shown exceptional aptitude and interest in computing and technology. This award not only acknowledges their accomplishments but also serves as an encouragement for them to continue pursuing their passion in this field. The selection criteria for this award include the student's computing experience, involvement in computing-related activities, leadership skills, perseverance, and future plans in the realm of technology. Since its inception in 2007, the AiC Award has been conferred upon more than 25,000 deserving students.
The AiC High School Award follows a multi-tiered structure, with designations such as Winner, Honorable Mention, and Rising Star being awarded at both National and Regional Affiliate levels. This structure ensures that students from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, all U.S. overseas military bases, and Canada have the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements. The Regional Affiliate Award programs are hosted in 79 locations across the nation.
