West Virginia TGKVF Scholarships

The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation (TGKVF) is committed to empowering students to pursue their educational aspirations and prepare for their future professions.

We understand that being a student comes with its own set of challenges. To help alleviate these, our generous benefactors have established hundreds of scholarship opportunities for you.

TGKVF offers a wide array of scholarships to support students seeking post-secondary education. Some scholarships are specifically for graduating seniors from certain schools, while others are designated for specific fields of study. To be considered, all applicants must complete an online application and submit it by 5:00 pm EST on February 1st.

Our scholarship program significantly enriches the lives of many students by providing them with opportunities to further their education, which they might not otherwise have. This is made possible each year through the contributions of numerous Foundation donors and the dedication of our volunteers.

ELIGIBILITY

Each scholarship fund has specific eligibility requirements as defined by the donor. Applicants are advised to carefully review the specific criteria before applying. Detailed requirements can be found on our website at www.tgkvf.org.

General criteria applicable to most scholarships include:

• Residency in West Virginia, with the exception of The Kids’ Chance Scholarship
• Full-time student status with a minimum of 12 Credit Hours (except for the Willard H. Erwin, Jr. (WVHFMA) scholarship, which allows part-time)
• Submission of a required essay
• Pursuit of an undergraduate degree (exceptions include the following scholarships: Willard H. Erwin, Jr. (WVHFMA), Leopold & Elizabeth Marmet, R. Ray Singleton, Shepherd Family, Eleanora G. Wylie. These scholarships are available for graduate school).
