The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was established with the primary objective of providing financial assistance to students who are passionate about pursuing a career in the agricultural sector. Scholarships are granted annually, with the selection criteria encompassing academic performance, career aspirations, participation in extracurricular activities, determination, leadership abilities, and a dedication to studying agriculture. The application process for all scholarships is streamlined, requiring only one application form. The following scholarships are available: 1. **Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship:** This scholarship is renewable annually upon submission of a completed application. Eligibility criteria include enrollment or prospective enrollment in a two-year or four-year college or university, a commitment to careers in domestic livestock production (excluding horses), rangeland management, or large-animal veterinary medicine. Students must maintain an average of 15 units per semester or an equivalent number of units per quarter and maintain at least a C average. 2. **The Curt & Joan Moran Scholarship:** This scholarship is also renewable annually with a completed application. One scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in a four-year college or a two-year community college program, and another to a student from Lassen County attending a trade or technical school to learn an agriculturally related trade such as welding or diesel mechanics. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and plan to work in agriculture. 3. **The Agricultural Lenders Society of California:** Two scholarships of $2,500 each are awarded annually. This non-renewable scholarship is granted to students pursuing a career in agriculture with a special emphasis on ag lending. 4. **California Farm Bureau Scholarships:** These non-renewable scholarships are for undergraduate students entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California and pursuing a career in the agricultural field. The applicant must have a high school or college GPA of 3.00 or above and be a resident of California. 5. **Frederick J. Heringer Honorary Award:** This scholarship, named in honor of the late CAFB President, is awarded to a recipient from a farm family or someone with substantial on-the-farm experience. 6. **Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship:** Named in memory of the late CAFB environmental advocate, this scholarship is awarded to outstanding applicants intending to pursue studies in agricultural resource issues or as an agricultural lawyer. 7. **Howard P. Wackman II Perpetual Memorial Award:** Named in honor of the late CAFB Vice President, this scholarship is awarded to applicants intending to pursue studies leading to vocations in production agriculture with an intention of continuing the family farm. 8. **John H. Wiechman Memorial Scholarship:** Named in memory of the late CAFB Leadership Development manager, this scholarship is for high school seniors, or those in the first three years of college, who plan to enroll, or are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in the broad field of agriculture.
