Al Christopherson Scholarships

The Minnesota Foundation for Agriculture takes immense pride in fostering the next generation of agricultural leaders through the Al Christopherson Scholarship and the Paul Stark Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships are designed to support students who are pursuing degrees in agriculture, conservation, or forestry-related programs.
To be eligible for these scholarships, there are a few criteria that must be met. Firstly, the applicant must be a member of the Farm Bureau, or qualify under their family's membership. Secondly, the applicant must be enrolled in an accredited institution and be entering their junior or senior year of college, final year of an area vocational-technical institute, or be engaged in graduate work.
The selection process for these scholarships is based on a few key factors. Primarily, the applicant's academic performance, leadership skills, and interest in agriculture are taken into account. Additionally, applicants are required to submit a creative essay, not exceeding 500 words, that articulates their interest in agriculture, conservation, or a forestry-related field.
The scholarships are awarded after the receipt of the applicant's year-end transcripts. It's important to note that the recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 during the year in which they received the award. Once the transcript is received and the GPA requirement is verified, the scholarship funds will be disbursed to the recipient.
