Overview The Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc. awards three scholarships of $1,000 each to help graduating high school seniors or current college students continue their education at an accredited institution. The three scholarships: - $1,000 — for a student pursuing agriculture, family and consumer sciences, or a related field. - $1,000 — for a student pursuing any field of study. - $1,000 — chosen at the Scholarship Committee’s discretion. Who may apply - High school seniors or current college students. - Applicants must be (or have been) active participants in a member fair of the Association of Connecticut Fairs, Inc. How to apply - Submit the application online using the designated form. - You may save your work in the online system and collaborate with a Fair Secretary or 4‑H Representative before final submission. - You will need to provide contact information for a Fair Secretary or 4‑H Representative (we may contact them to verify participation). Required materials - Complete every required field on the online application. - A high school or college transcript must be uploaded. An official transcript may be requested for verification. - Contact information for a Fair Secretary or 4‑H Representative. Deadlines and notification - Completed applications must be submitted online by May 30 of the given year. - Scholarship recipients will be notified prior to July 1. - Awards are presented at the Association’s Annual Fall Meeting (usually in November). Attendance is encouraged but not required. How applications are judged - Fair participation: 50% - Essay: 30% - Scholastic standing: 10% - Citizenship and leadership: 10% Note: The Scholarship Committee may withhold awards if no applicant adequately meets the criteria. Promotion and support - Member fairs should publicize the scholarship through meetings, local events, newspapers, and school guidance offices. - Fair Secretaries and 4‑H Representatives are expected to help students understand and complete the application. A final note from your teacher Start early, double‑check that every required field and document is included, and ask your Fair Secretary or 4‑H Representative for help if you’re unsure about anything.
