Scholarship overview
We offer a $2,000 scholarship to help cover tuition for the next semester. If you’re interested, you’ll need to submit a short essay explaining how Minecraft can be a positive influence on education and career development.
Essay prompt and requirements
Write a thoughtful essay (minimum 500 words) on how Minecraft can be used to enhance learning and support career preparation. Tell us about your ideas and any personal experiences that show why the game can be more than entertainment—how it builds skills, encourages creativity, fosters collaboration, or connects to real-world careers. Submit your essay along with the required information on the form below.
Eligibility
To apply you must:
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be currently enrolled in high school or college.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Timeline and selection
Applications are reviewed after the submission deadline; selection activities take place in early August each year. The Apex Hosting LLC scholarship committee will review all applications and notify the recipient by e-mail.
A few helpful tips (from a teacher)
- Aim for clarity and specific examples—describe projects, classroom uses, or career connections where possible.
- Proofread your essay for organization, grammar, and spelling before you submit.
- Make sure your essay meets the 500-word minimum and that you complete all fields on the form.
