Perfect Plants, a family-owned nursery, has been rooted in the same principles and property since its establishment in 1980. As a second-generation business, we are deeply committed to the cultivation of plants and the dissemination of knowledge about horticulture. We take pride in our industry and understand the significance of fostering further interest and education in this field. To this end, we initiated our South East Regional Scholarship Program in 2016, aimed at supporting those who aspire to pursue a degree in the horticultural industry.
Eligibility for Scholarship
Our scholarship program is open to incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are enrolled full-time or part-time in a course of study at a community college or university, with the aim of pursuing a career in the horticultural industry. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Interested students must submit the following documents to Perfect Plants Nursery by the annual deadline of August 20th:
- A completed online scholarship application
- High school or college transcripts
- An essay of 500 to 1,000 words addressing the following topics:
- Describe how your interest in horticulture developed and your experiences in the field
- Discuss a unique attribute or achievement that distinguishes you
- Choose an experience from your life and explain how it has shaped your development
- Explain the financial impact this scholarship would have on your education
- Two letters of recommendation from any two of the following:
- A faculty member from your school or college
- A professional in the horticultural field
- A community leader
- An employer or supervisor
Scholarship Awards
The recipient of the scholarship will receive an award of $1,000.00, which will be mailed by October 1st. The recipient will be notified via email by September 20th. Please note that previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to reapply.
By submitting this application and the required attachments, you certify that all the information provided is accurate and truthful. Please be aware that any false information may result in disqualification or revocation of the award. If you are awarded a scholarship, your name may be published and announced at the discretion of Perfect Plants Nursery.
