Overview
This scholarship is for students who live in the Triangle (Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake counties) and who have shown the ability to succeed despite challenges and a strong desire to continue their education or training.
Amount and how it is used
- Award: Up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to three additional years (maximum total $20,000).
- Use: Funds may be applied to any item included in your school’s total cost of attendance. You’re responsible for any remaining charges.
- Payments: Made once a year for up to four years. To keep the award you must stay in good academic standing and submit semester reports each year.
Who is eligible
- Minimum GPA: 2.5
- Residency: Must be a resident of Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake county.
- High school: No restriction (current seniors, recent grads, or returning students may apply).
- College: Must be attending or planning to attend a public college or university in North Carolina. Any degree type is acceptable.

- This scholarship is included in the program’s universal online application.
- When you log in you’ll take a short eligibility quiz; the system then shows all scholarships you qualify for and their specific questions.
