Larry F. Ball Memorial Scholarship — Information and Instructions

Dear student,

Thank you for your interest in the Larry F. Ball Memorial Scholarship. This $4,000 award is given annually to a female Ohio resident who is committed to completing a bachelor’s degree at a four‑year college or university in Ohio. Please read the eligibility rules and application details carefully.

Who is eligible
- Female and an Ohio resident.
- United States citizen.
- Enrolled (or planning to enroll) at a four‑year, U.S.‑accredited college or university located in Ohio. Applicants may be in any year of study (1st–4th).
- Able to demonstrate past community service and a commitment to future community service.
- Include a letter of recommendation from a non‑family member.
- Nontraditional students are welcome to apply.

How the award is paid
- The scholarship is a one‑time award of $4,000.
- Funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s college account and may be applied to tuition, books, and/or school fees. The money will not be paid directly to the student.
- The award is issued only once, in the Fall semester of the award year. Recipients may not reapply in subsequent years.

If you are selected
To receive the funds, you will need to provide:
- Your full name and student ID for the college that will receive the award.
- The university name, and the Financial Aid Office contact name and mailing address where the award check should be sent.

Important dates
- Application deadline: April 15.
- Award issued: Fall semester of the same year.

Final notes
Please make sure your application clearly documents your community service and includes the required recommendation.
