Overview The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF), supported by the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), awards a limited number of scholarships each year to students pursuing culinary, pastry, or foodservice education.
Scholarship amounts
- Apprenticeship programs: up to $1,500
- Certificate programs: up to $1,500
- Postsecondary degree programs: up to $2,500
Deadlines Scholarship applications are accepted twice a year:
- April 30
- October 31
Who is eligible To qualify, students must:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Be currently accepted to an accredited institution with a major in culinary, pastry, or another foodservice-related program.
How applications are evaluated
- Applications are scored on a point system by a scholarship selection committee.
- Points are awarded for: GPA, participation in culinary competitions, relevant volunteer activities, and involvement with ACF.
Notification and important policies
- Applicants will be notified by email of award decisions within 30 business days after the application deadline.
- Students who need support in later years are encouraged to reapply.
- ACFEF reserves the right to cancel any scholarship if a recipient fails to meet academic progress standards or falsifies information.
