Georgia Realtors College Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Georgia Realtors
If you’re planning to major in real estate or a closely related field and will be attending a Georgia college full time, read this carefully. The Georgia REALTORS Scholarship Foundation offers one $1,000 undergraduate scholarship each school year, and that award is renewable up to three times — meaning a single recipient can receive the scholarship for up to four academic years.
Important dates and definitions
- Deadline: April 5 each year (applications are for the following school year).
- School year: August 1 through July 31.
- Submit application and all materials by email to: scholarships@garealtor.com
Who is eligible
- Any full-time undergraduate student at an accredited Georgia college or university (public or private),
- Major must be in real estate or a real estate-related field,
- Applicant must be enrolled, or officially planning to begin college, for the upcoming school year (does not have to be a freshman).
Award and selection
- One new $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year.
- The award may be renewed up to three times for the same student (maximum four annual awards total).
- Applications are reviewed and recipients selected by the Scholarship Committee Trustees.
What the scholarship pays for
- Eligible uses: tuition, fees, meal plans, dormitory fees, and other directly related school expenses.
- Ineligible uses: travel and off-campus living expenses.
Application checklist (all items required)
1. Completed application form (be sure to include your contact information).
2. Documentation of other awards, if any.
3. Academic verification:
- If you were a high school student within the past five years: a certified copy of your high school transcript emailed to scholarships@garealtor.com. The transcript must come either directly from your school counseling office or be a copy where every page is signed by your guidance counselor.
- If you were not a high school student within the past five years: a résumé covering your last five years of academic and/or employment history.
4. Essay: 500–600 words describing your college and career plans and explaining why you deserve the scholarship.
5. Two letters of recommendation:
- One from a teacher or professor,
- One from a non-family member (community leader, employer, mentor, etc.).
- Each letter must be signed and include the recommender’s contact information.
Tips from a teacher
- Start early. Collect transcripts and recommendations well before the April 5 deadline.
- Have someone proofread your essay for clarity and grammar.
- Name your files clearly and use a helpful subject line in your email (for example: “Scholarship Application — Jane Doe — 2026–27”).
- Double-check that recommendation letters are signed and include contact information.
