SILA Foundation Scholarships

Overview
The SILA Foundation is offering twelve scholarships of $1,250 each to students pursuing careers in the insurance and securities industries. Awards may be used at any accredited post‑secondary college or university within the continental United States. Graduate study is eligible.

Who can apply
To be considered you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Be studying in one of these fields:
1. Insurance / Compliance / Risk Management
2. Economics
3. Financial Advisor / Financial Planner / Broker / Stock Trader
4. Finance / Accounting / Actuarial Science
5. General Business
6. Business Administration
7. Business Information
8. Business / Management Information Systems
9. Law / Paralegal
10. Information Technology
- Meet one of the enrollment/employment combinations:
- Enrolled for at least 12 credit hours, OR
- Enrolled for at least 9 credit hours and employed part‑time (≥ 20 hours/week), OR
- Enrolled for at least 6 credit hours and employed full‑time (≥ 32 hours/week).

Required application materials
All materials must be submitted during the application window (February 1–March 31, 2025). A complete application includes:
- A completed and electronically signed SILA Foundation Scholarship Application.
- A scholastic transcript that verifies GPA and field of study.
- If you are a high‑school senior, upload your high‑school transcript now. If you are selected, you must provide your fall college/university enrollment schedule before scholarship funds are released.
- If you ask your school to send the transcript directly to SILA, upload the receipt showing you requested it.
- A letter of reference.
- If you are applying under the employment‑based eligibility (full‑time employee), an employment verification letter.

Please note: incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection, verification, and award timeline
- Applications are accepted only from February 1 through March 31, 2025.
- Scholarships are awarded for the upcoming school year.
- Recipients are chosen by the SILA Foundation based on the quality and relevance of the application and supporting materials.
- If selected, you must provide proof of citizenship or permanent residency (for example: U.S. passport, birth certificate, state driver’s license, or USCIS Permanent Resident Card).
- Award funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s school in September.
