Safe Driving Scholarship

Our firm is pleased to offer the $1,000 Safe Driving Scholarship to students who can clearly and thoughtfully address texting-and-driving laws in their state and suggest practical ways to improve road safety.
Who may apply
- Open to students enrolled in any U.S. high school, college, or university.
- High school applicants must be graduating seniors.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0.
Application materials (required)
- Essay (750 words): Respond to this prompt — Discuss the current texting-and-driving laws in your state and what could be improved to promote safety on the roads.
- Professional résumé: List academic and relevant professional experience.
- Official transcript: Provide documentation of your current GPA.
How to apply and deadlines
- Submit your complete application (essay, résumé, and transcript) using the form below.
- Deadline: all materials must be received by May 31, 2025. Applications received after that date will not be considered.
- Winner announced in June 2025.
A few teacher tips (optional, but recommended)
- Start with local law: name the law, summarize key provisions, and cite sources (state statutes, DMV guidance, or reputable news reports).
- Organize your essay: clear thesis, evidence about current law and its effects, then practical, realistic improvements.
- Show critical thinking: weigh trade-offs (enforcement, education, technology) and explain why your suggestions would work.
- Proofread and have a teacher or mentor review your résumé and essay before you submit.
