Safe Cycling Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Felix Gonzalez Law Firm, P.C.
At Felix Gonzalez Accident and Injury Law Firm, our team of personal injury attorneys is committed to safeguarding the rights of individuals who have suffered harm due to the negligence of others. We are particularly concerned about the safety of cyclists on our roads. To this end, we are pleased to announce a scholarship this year aimed at promoting safe cycling practices.
Cyclists often encounter numerous distractions and hazards while navigating our streets. It is incumbent upon all road users to exercise caution, not only for their own safety but also for the well-being of those around them. For instance, in San Antonio, the local government is contemplating additional safety measures, such as the expansion of bike lanes.
For this scholarship, we invite you to explore how government initiatives like bike lanes can contribute to accident prevention in your community. Please delve into the evolution of laws pertaining to cycling safety, the importance of education about the risks of cycling in unsafe conditions, and your thoughts on what more can be done to enhance cyclist safety.
Once we have received all submissions, our panel will review the entries and select one student to receive a $1,000 award. This award will be granted to the student who most effectively articulates the impact of safe cycling practices in their community and/or the changes being implemented to promote such practices.
Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025
Award Amount: $1,000
