Overview — why this scholarship exists
As a firm that works closely with immigrant families, Solano Law Firm wants to support students who are committed to education and community improvement. The Build a Better Future Scholarship awards two U.S. high school seniors $2,500 each to help reduce the cost of college and encourage young people who plan to use their education to lift themselves and their communities.

Who is eligible
You may apply if all of the following are true:
- You are a current high school senior in the United States (one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia).
- You are a child of an immigrant or a first-generation U.S. citizen.
- You will be enrolled in a two- to five-year post-secondary program for the 2025 school year (community college, four-year college, trade program, etc.).
- Your cumulative GPA is 3.0 or higher and you are in good academic standing.
Who cannot apply
- Employees of Solano Law Firm LLC, their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouses), and anyone living in the same household as an employee are not eligible.
Application requirements
Prepare the following and submit them with the application form (see the scholarship page for the form and submission instructions):
1. Essay (500–1,000 words)
- Describe the difficulties or disadvantages you have faced and how you overcame them.
- Explain your educational goals and how you plan to use your degree to improve your life and/or create positive change locally or nationally.
- Be specific about your plans and motivations.
2. Current high school transcript.
3. Proof of acceptance to your college or post‑secondary program (required for high school applicants).
Important notes about the essay
- All essays will be checked for AI-generated content. Applications will be disqualified if AI writing is detected. Write in your own words.
- Practical tip from a teacher: organize your essay around clear examples—state the challenge, explain actions you took, show the results, and connect the experience to your future goals.
