Important tax note
- The award will be disbursed directly to the recipient. You must provide information needed to issue a 1099 (including your Social Security number). Any tax liability that results from the award is the student’s responsibility.

Who is eligible
You must meet all of the following:
1. Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Texas
2. Be over the age of 30
3. Be pursuing a graduate-level degree or clinical credential that leads to licensure as a medical practitioner or nurse at an accredited institution
4. Submit one letter of recommendation that includes valid contact information
5. Complete the scholarship application, include original essay answers, and upload the completed application plus the letter of reference on the scholarship application page

Examples of qualifying programs (not an exhaustive list)
- Doctoral/Professional: MD, DO, DDS/DMD, DPM, OD, PsyD, PharmD, DNP, PhD
- Nursing: RN programs, NP, CNM, CRNA, LPN
- Master’s/Advanced: MPH, MSN, MPAS, MMS, MN, MPharm, etc.
- Physician Assistant: PA, PAC
