What’s being offered
- Eight scholarships of $3,000 each.
- Five (5) awards open to any full-time student attending an accredited college or university in the U.S.
- Three (3) awards reserved for Extra Space Storage employees or their immediate family members.
Who should consider applying
- High school, college, and graduate students planning to be enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university for the Fall 2026 semester.
- Applicants must be legal residents of the United States and at least 16 years old at the time of application.
- You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must give consent.
Key eligibility checklist (quick)
- Enrolled full-time for Fall 2026 at an accredited U.S. college or university (proof of enrollment will be required).
- At least 16 years old when you apply.
- U.S. legal resident with a valid Social Security Number.
- One application per person (one email address).
- Employees and immediate family of Extra Space Storage may apply for the three reserved awards.
Application rules and judging
- Complete and accurate applications only — incomplete or inaccurate submissions may be disqualified.
- Winners will be selected during the application period; entries only count for the period in which they are submitted.
- Essays are judged equally on four criteria: content, grammar, style, and originality.
