We’re honored by the determination of spouses and children who want to honor their service member by continuing their education. If you’re ready to take that next step, we’ll do our best to help bridge the financial gap so you can focus on graduating. Who can apply - You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the following accredited programs: - A two‑ or four‑year college or university program (including graduate study), or - A technical or trade school program that leads to a certificate or license. Important scholarship rules and deadlines - Application window: February 1 through March 31 each year. If March 31 falls on a weekend, the deadline is extended to the close of the first business day after March 31. - Award size and disbursement: - Awards may total up to $5,000 per academic year. - Payments will not exceed $2,500 per term and each payment will be at least $100. - If your unmet need for a given term is less than $2,500, we will send only the actual unmet amount to your school. Any remaining portion of your award may be held and applied to a later term within the same academic year. - You must reapply every year you want to be considered for funding. - How to apply and submit documents: - All application materials must be submitted through the Folds of Honor online portal. - We do not accept documentation by U.S. mail, fax, email, or phone. - Notifications and payments: - Offer or denial letters are sent in mid‑July. - All scholarship funds are mailed directly to the educational institution; funds are not sent directly to recipients.
