Scholarship Sponsored by Robert F. Lawson Fund
Robert F. Lawson was a veteran who spent his life working to make the world a better place. After he left the military, he kept that promise by helping others—and he believed that people who choose service careers deserve support as they prepare to serve their communities.
This scholarship honors that belief. Its purpose is simple: to invest in students who plan to spend their careers helping other people.
Who should apply
- Low-income high school seniors and undergraduate students
- Students who intend to pursue careers in health care, social work, government, education, or a related field
How to apply Tell us about yourself and how you plan to help the world through your career. In your statement, consider describing:
- your background and financial need,
- what motivates you to choose a service-oriented career,
- relevant experience (volunteer work, employment, leadership) and what you learned from it,
- your short- and long-term goals and how this scholarship would help you reach them.
We want applicants who combine commitment to others with clear plans for how they’ll make a difference. Write honestly and specifically—show us who you are and how you’ll carry forward Robert Lawson’s legacy of service.
