Cameron Impact Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Bryan Cameron Education Foundation
Here’s a clearer, more teacherly version of your material — same details, but organized and written like I would explain it to a motivated student in my classroom.
Overview — what the Cameron Impact Scholarship is
- A four-year, full-tuition undergraduate scholarship awarded each year to 15 outstanding high school students.
- It covers tuition, fees, and books at any accredited U.S.-based college or university the recipient chooses.
- The scholarship seeks students who combine strong academics with real leadership, sustained community service, and a genuine desire to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
Who this program is for
- Merit-based and open to applicants who meet the stated GPA and citizenship requirements regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics.
- We want students who have demonstrated passion, initiative, and the intent to use their education to make a measurable difference.
Key dates and application cap (read this carefully)
- APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR THE CLASS OF 2027.
- APPLICATION DEADLINE: May 1, 2026 at 12:00 PM PT (noon).
- We review applications on a rolling basis and will accept up to 3,000 completed and eligible applications. The application will close when we reach 3,000 submissions OR on May 1, 2026 — whichever happens first.
- We will post notices on the website and social media if the application limit is approaching. Submit early — we are not responsible for last-minute technical problems.
What “equity” means here
- Equity for the Foundation means assessing merit in context: we evaluate what a student has accomplished relative to the opportunities and constraints they have faced.
- This doesn’t lower standards or replace merit; it simply recognizes excellence across different paths. A student who achieves at a high level with abundant supports and a student who achieves similarly with fewer supports are both demonstrating merit.
Why equity matters for impact
- The Foundation’s focus is on multiplying impact, not only on giving scholarships.
- Diverse experiences and perspectives strengthen the cohort: equity helps identify leaders who might otherwise be overlooked, builds a stronger community, fosters collaboration and shared learning, and accelerates impact through extended networks.
Selection priorities and allocation
- The Cameron Impact Scholar is expected to use their education toward long-term, tangible contributions to the public good.
- Approximately 25% of scholarships are reserved for applicants whose stated career goal is public service (education, nonprofits, government, and/or the military).
Eligibility checklist (you must meet all of these)
- Minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- U.S. citizen.
- Member of the high school graduating Class of 2027, planning to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year U.S. college or university in the academic year immediately after graduation.
- Demonstrated leadership, strong work ethic, proven excellence in extracurricular activities, and active participation in community service or civic-minded work.
- Submit all required application components by the deadline:
- Completed online application
- Two letters of recommendation (one must be from current school-affiliated personnel)
- High school transcript (unofficial is acceptable)
Application process and timeline
- We accept up to 3,000 completed and eligible applications on a rolling basis — early submission is strongly recommended.
- Approximately 100 Finalists will be selected for face-to-face interviews in Fall 2026 (typically held at the student’s high school).
- Scholarship recipients will be announced in December 2026.
- Recipients must attend an annual Awards Ceremony each year of the scholarship; the ceremony location rotates among different cities.
How to submit documents
- Recommendations and transcripts can be uploaded within the online application when prompted, OR emailed to admin@bryancameronef.org.
- Submit only two recommendation letters (one must be from current school personnel).
- Unofficial transcript copies are acceptable for the application.
A practical plan (teacher’s advice)
- Start early: ask your recommenders now and confirm one is school-affiliated.
- Keep an unofficial copy of your transcript ready.
- Finish the online application at least a few days before the deadline to avoid technical issues and the application cap.
- Watch the Foundation’s website and social media for updates about the application cap.
- If you have questions, email admin@bryancameronef.org.
If you want, I can turn this into a printable checklist or a student-facing timeline planner to help applicants stay on track. Which would you prefer?
