Cameron Impact Scholarship

Value: $80,000.00
Awards Available: 15
Deadline : May 01, 2026

Quick overview — what this scholarship is and who it’s for - The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a four‑year, full‑tuition scholarship (plus fees and books) awarded to 15 outstanding high school seniors each year. It’s for students who combine strong academics with demonstrated leadership, community service, and a clear desire to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. Recipients may use the award at any accredited U.S. college or university. Who can apply (eligibility) To be eligible you must: - Be a U.S. citizen. - Be in the high school graduating Class of 2027 and planning to enroll full time at an accredited four‑year U.S. college or university the year after graduation. - Have a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent). - Show proven excellence in extracurriculars, leadership, community service/civic engagement, and a strong work ethic. One quarter of the scholarships (about 25%) are reserved for students who state a professional goal in public service (education, nonprofits, government, or military). Application components (what to submit) All applicants must submit these three items by the application deadline: 1. Online application. 2. Two letters of recommendation (one must be from current school personnel). Please submit only two recommendation letters. 3. Transcript showing your academic record (an unofficial copy is acceptable). You can upload recommendations and the transcript directly in the application or email them to admin@bryancameronef.org. Important application details and timing - We review applications on a rolling basis. - We will accept a maximum of 3,000 completed, eligible applications. The application will close when we reach 3,000 OR on May 1, 2026 — whichever comes first. If the cap is approaching we will note it on the website and our social channels. - Submit early. The Foundation is not responsible for last‑minute technical problems. Selection process and timeline - From the full applicant pool, the Selection Committee will name approximately 100 finalists. Finalists will receive face‑to‑face interviews in Fall 2026 (interviews are typically held at the applicant’s high school). - Scholarship recipients (the 15 Cameron Impact Scholars) will be announced in December 2026. - Recipients are required to attend an annual Awards Ceremony each year of the scholarship; the ceremony is held in a different city each year. How the Foundation thinks about merit and equity - The Cameron Foundation is merit‑based and open to applicants from every background — race, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, and more do not affect eligibility. - The Foundation applies equity by evaluating achievement in context. That means we look at what each student accomplished relative to the opportunities and constraints they faced. Equity does not mean lowering standards or substituting need for merit; it means recognizing different paths to excellence. A student who achieves at a high level with many supports and a student who achieves similar impact with fewer supports are both showing merit. Why diversity of experience matters for impact - The Foundation funds scholars to multiply impact, not simply to give awards. When high‑merit students with varied experiences learn from and work with one another, their collective impact grows. - Equity and inclusion help the Foundation: - Find exceptional leaders who might be overlooked by narrow measures, - Build a stronger scholar community, - Encourage collaboration, shared learning, and inspiration, - Accelerate impact through networks that extend beyond any single scholarship. Quick reminders - Only two recommendation letters — one must be from current school personnel. - Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. - Email materials to admin@bryancameronef.org if you prefer, but make sure they’re received before the application closes. - Watch the Foundation’s website and social channels for updates about the application cap. If you want, I can help you draft a checklist, timeline, or a sample personal statement that highlights leadership and impact.
