Tony V. Grey Legacy Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Filipino American Council of Ventura County
The Tony V. Grey Legacy Scholarship was established by Tony Grey’s family and friends to honor his life and the many roles he played: devoted family man, Navy officer, community leader in Ventura County, and proud Filipino American (July 28, 1937 – October 13, 2016). The scholarship reflects Tony’s commitment to community and education.
Who may apply
- Graduating high school seniors (Class of 2025) from a school located in Ventura County
- Minimum cumulative high school GPA: 2.0
- Must be a Ventura County resident
- At least 50% Filipino heritage
Note: Any direct or extended family members of Tony Grey are not eligible. This award was created to honor Tony’s broader impact on the community.

How to apply — required materials
Initial submission (for consideration)
1. Completed Tony V. Grey Legacy Scholarship Application Form
2. Completed essay (follow the application instructions for topic, length, and how to submit)
If selected as a finalist — additional materials required (email all items to info@tonyvgreyscholarship.org)
1. Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or school official
2. Letter of recommendation from another individual of your choice
3. High school transcript(s) through the most recently completed school year
4. Proof of acceptance at a college or university
5. A 15–30 minute interview (in-person or via video chat)
Final requirement for the award recipient
- Final transcript(s) after high school graduation (email to info@tonyvgreyscholarship.org), if requested
