Overview The Golden Apple Scholars Program (Illinois) prepares and supports future teachers who are committed to working in Illinois “schools-of-need.” It combines tuition assistance, classroom experience, mentoring, and professional development so Scholars are ready to step into challenging classrooms and stay effective over time. • Holistic review: The committee looks at the whole application; no single item automatically decides admission. They consider academic record, course rigor, personal statements, recommendations, and extracurricular involvement.

Completion and post‑program commitments To complete the program and retain benefits you must:

• Meet ISAC program requirements.
• Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
• Participate in Golden Apple Scholar Institutes and other required programming.
• Follow the program code of conduct.
• Earn a bachelor’s degree from an Illinois Partner University.
• Obtain Illinois teaching certification.
• Teach for five years in an Illinois school‑of‑need within seven years of graduation.
• Note: Your anticipated college graduation date should be no earlier than summer 2028 because of program timing.
