Coolidge Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Coolidge Foundation
Quick overview — what really matters
- To apply for the 2025–26 Coolidge Scholarship you must be a current high school junior (Class of 2027) who plans to start college as a full‑time, first‑time undergraduate in fall 2027.
- You must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident by the scholarship deadline.
- You may not be an immediate family member of any current employee, trustee, or a “significant donor” (defined as lifetime giving over $25,000) to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation or the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund.
Eligibility — clear checklist
1. Current grade: You must be a high school junior (graduating spring 2027).
2. College plans: You must intend to enroll full‑time at an accredited U.S. college or university for the first time in fall 2027.
3. Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident by the deadline. Students who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents but attend high school abroad are eligible.
4. Conflicts of interest: You may not be an immediate family member of any current employee, trustee, or significant donor (lifetime gifts > $25,000) to the Foundation or Fund.
Common questions (short answers)
- I’m an international student — can I apply?
No. Only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents are eligible. (If you are a U.S. citizen or LPR studying abroad, you can apply.)
- I’m a junior but taking some college courses now — can I still apply?
Yes. Taking college classes while in high school does not disqualify you as long as you will be a first‑time, full‑time undergraduate in fall 2027.
- I plan to take a gap year and start college after fall 2027 — am I eligible?
No. The scholarship is only for students who will begin full‑time undergraduate study in fall 2027. No exceptions.
- I’ll graduate early (spring 2026) — can I apply?
No. Applicants must be graduating in spring 2027 and starting college in fall 2027.
- I’m a current high school senior — can I apply?
No. Only current juniors are eligible. No exceptions.
- If I win, can I retake senior year to become eligible?
No. Applicants may not alter their high school year or graduation date to become eligible.
- I skipped a grade earlier and am the same age as juniors — am I eligible?
No. Eligibility depends on current status, not age. Only students who are currently high school juniors may apply. (If you skipped a grade but are currently a junior, you are eligible.)
