AAUW-Lew Williams & Joan Odud Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by AAUW Freehold (NJ) Branch
Each year the Freehold branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) awards scholarships to women who have returned to college to complete their degrees. For the 2026–2027 academic year, scholarships of $2,000 each (Lew Williams and Joan Odud Scholarships) are available. Funding depends on the proceeds of the branch’s annual June Book Sale in Freehold, NJ.
Important dates
- Application period: January through July
- Application deadline: must be received by July 31, 2026
Who is eligible
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Identify as a woman and be 25 years of age or older
- Live in Monmouth or Middlesex County
- Be enrolled in an accredited program:
- Bachelor’s program with at least 60 completed credits, or
- Master’s program with at least 6 completed credits
- Have a cumulative GPA of B (3.0) or higher
- Not be a previous recipient of these scholarships
What to submit
All materials must be received by the July 31 deadline:
- Completed application (request from the branch)
- Official transcripts
- Two letters of recommendation
