Overview
Two $3,000 scholarships are awarded each year to students who plan careers related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities. These awards are meant to support students preparing for work in fields such as behavioral sciences, social work, health-care administration and management, or psychology.
Award amount and payment
- Each scholarship is $3,000 total.
- The money is disbursed in two $1,500 installments (one per semester).
- The award must be claimed within four years of the date it is granted.

This scholarship is intended for full-time college students who are committed to training for a career that serves people with intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
Eligibility checklist
You must meet all of the following to be eligible:
- Enrolled full-time in college (any year of study).
- Pursuing training in a field related to intellectual or other developmental disabilities (examples: behavioral sciences, social work, health-care administration/management, psychology).
- A resident of New York State.
- Not currently receiving another scholarship from The Arc New York (simultaneous Arc New York scholarships are not permitted).
