Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 2
Deadline : Jan 16, 2026

If you’re thinking about college and have any interest in agriculture—or you’re active in FFA, 4‑H, or similar groups—read this carefully. The Ohio Soybean Association (OSA) awards two $1,000 scholarships each year to students of any major who demonstrate a strong interest in the soybean industry and agricultural advocacy.

What you need to know
- Award: Two scholarships of $1,000 each, paid directly to the recipient’s school for tuition, fees, and books. Recipients are eligible to reapply each year.
- Who may apply: Current full‑time college, university, or technical school students, OR high school seniors who plan to enroll full time. All majors are welcome.
- Eligibility specifics: Applicants must be Ohio residents and either:
- a Student or Young Adult (SYA) member of the Ohio Soybean Association, or
- the child or grandchild of a current OSA member.
- Strong application traits: In addition to interest in the soybean industry, OSA looks for demonstrable involvement or leadership in ag‑related organizations (for example, FFA or 4‑H) and a commitment to agricultural advocacy.

Important dates
- Applications open: October 27, 2025
- Deadline: January 16, 2026

How to get more information or ask questions
- Contact Mackenzie Joseph at mjoseph@soyohio.org.

A quick note about the association
- The Ohio Soybean Association is run by a volunteer board of farmers. Its mission includes education and promotion of the soybean industry and advocating for legislative policies that support Ohio soybean producers.

A few practical tips (teacher to student)
- Start early. Gather transcripts, proof of membership or relation to a member, and any documentation of leadership or community involvement.
- Be specific about your interest in soybeans or agricultural advocacy—concrete examples make a stronger application than general statements.
- Proofread your materials and ask a teacher, advisor, or parent to review your application before you submit it.

If you want, I can help you draft or review your application materials.
