Women Legislators of Missouri Scholarship — quick overview
This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship sponsored by the Women Legislators of Missouri for young women who are graduating from high school in Missouri this year.

What you’ll be asked on the application
Below are the supplemental questions you should prepare answers for. I recommend drafting these responses in a document first so you can copy them into the application without rushing.

A. Citizenship & basic info

- What is your ZIP + 4? (Use USPS.com to look up the 4-digit add-on.)

B. Elected representatives (how to find them: see instructions)
- Missouri State Representative and district number
- Visit house.mo.gov and enter your address and city in the “Find Your Representative” box.

- U.S. Congressional District Number
- Visit house.gov/representatives/find/ and enter your ZIP code.

C. Family and school contacts

I. Essay
- Prompt: “As women legislators, we are honored and privileged to serve the people of Missouri. If you were a state legislator, what is one law you would work to pass and why?” (Compose a clear, focused response.)

J. Award ceremony & bio
- If chosen as a recipient, you are expected to attend the award ceremony in April (exact date TBD).
- If chosen, your bio (250 words or less) will be published in the ceremony program — please prepare and submit a short bio.

K. Signature / certification
- By entering your full name, you certify that the information you provided is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge and you authorize the Women Legislators of Missouri and their agents to examine, verify, and discuss your academic records and other relevant information.
- If awarded, you must provide the information needed to mail a check to your school by September 1. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the award.
