Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship

The North Dakota Water Education Foundation (NDWEF), in partnership with the North Dakota Community Foundation, established the Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship Endowment. This endowment is a tribute to Russ Dushinske and Warren Jamison, honoring their exceptional service, leadership, and lifelong dedication to water development in North Dakota. As NDWEF Executive Director Dani Quissell articulates, the Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship Endowment is a lasting legacy left by Russ and Warren. Their legacy enables us to foster the next generation of water leaders by providing annual scholarships. The Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship Endowment extends scholarships to deserving North Dakota students. Each year, four scholarships, each valued at $1,500, are awarded to eligible applicants. To qualify, students must be enrolled in a college or university within North Dakota. While preference is given to students studying water-related fields or those from families actively involved in managing the state's water resources, all students are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the Annual North Dakota Water Convention Awards Banquet on December 11, 2025, where they will present their winning essays. The 2025 scholarship winners will be announced in May 2025, and the results will be published in the North Dakota Water magazine. Applicants are required to submit a two-page essay (12-point type, double-spaced) on the topic of their most vivid memory concerning water. In addition, applicants should provide the following information, not exceeding one page: - Honors and awards received - Non-academic school activities and special interests - Career plans after college graduation - Reason(s) for applying for this scholarship This information should be typed and presented in a clear and concise manner.
