Candis R. Richardson Memorial Scholarship

Candis was an inspiration to the Twiddy & Company team for her ability to remain positive at all times. No matter what the situation, she always had a smile on her face and found the silver lining. She began her career at Twiddy & Company in 2006 during Tropical Storm Ernesto. The storm’s forecast showed that it would not have much of an impact on the northern Outer Banks. However, Ernesto produced record amounts of rainfall and significant flooding in our vacation home communities.
Although Candis had just started at Twiddy & Company, she remained calm and helped put frantic arriving guests at ease with her friendly conversation and a big smile. Her ability to stay positive during a very stressful situation proved early on that she was a valuable part of the Twiddy & Company team. It also earned her the nickname “Ernesto”, which she was lovingly called from that day forward. Candis contributed a consistently positive outlook that lives on in all of her coworkers at Twiddy & Company.
