Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship

Eligibility (required)
- Must be a resident of Georgia. Provide a photo or scan of your Georgia driver’s license or other proof of GA residency.
- Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Verify this with an electronic transcript showing your current cumulative GPA.
- If you are not already an RN, you must have completed at least one academic year of study (verified by transcript).
- Two letters of reference that speak to your leadership, scholarship, and potential for success in nursing practice. Letters must be either signed with a verified e-signature or hand-signed and scanned.
Priority consideration (applicants who meet these are given preference)
- Currently enrolled in a Georgia school, college, or university.
- Member of a professional nursing or student organization/association (provide a photo or scan of your membership card or other proof).
- Scholarship-specific priorities:
- Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship: graduate-level, post-licensure students.
- Lucy Willard and Sarah Helen Killgore Scholarships: ADN, BSN, or pre-licensure entry-level master’s students.
Essay requirements (one page)
Your one-page essay should address:
- Your professional goals.
- A concrete five-year plan.
- How you will contribute to advancing nursing practice and healthcare services.
- How you will address social determinants of health and health inequities.
- The role you see nurses playing in improving health care access and quality.
Application and submission
- Applications are being accepted for the GANE 2026 Student Scholarships.
- Complete and submit the electronic GANE 2026 Scholarship Application (upload all required documents before you submit).
- Required uploads (at minimum): proof of GA residency, electronic transcript, two reference letters, membership documentation (if applicable), and your one-page essay.
- Email questions, submission problems, or additional documentation to ganegeneral@gmail.com. Put “GANE Scholarship Application” in the subject line.
Deadline
- Completed 2025–2026 Scholarship Applications must be received by November 15, 2025.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection and award
- Selection is based on meeting the eligibility requirements established by the Georgia Association for Nursing Education (GANE).
- Final recipients will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee and confirmed by the GANE Board of Directors.
- Scholarships will be awarded Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the 2026 GANE conference at The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee (near Greensboro, GA).
