Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Georgia Association for Nursing Education Inc.

All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in nursing (verified by the National Student Clearinghouse site)
• Resident of Georgia (provide photo or scan of Georgia driver's license or other evidence of GA residence)
• GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in prior educational work (verified by official transcript or screenshot of current cumulative GPA)
• All non-RN applicants must have completed one year of study (as evidenced by above verifications)
• Provide two letters of reference that indicate leadership, scholarship, and potential for success in the practice of nursing (letters must be signed with verified e-signature or hand-signed and scanned).

Priority will be given to applicants who meet the following criteria:

• Enrolled in a Georgia school, college, or university
• Member of a professional nursing organization/association (provide photo or scan of membership card or other documentation)
• Graduate student for Spillman-Bischoff Scholarship
• ADN or BSN student for Lucy Willard and Sarah Helen Kilgore Scholarships
• Essay:
  • Identifies professional goals.
  • Defines a 5-year plan.  
  • Describes contributions for advancing nursing practice and healthcare services.
  • Describes plan for addressing social determinants of health and health inequities.
  • Describes the role of nurses in improving health care access and quality.

• Applications are currently being accepted for the GANE 2025 Student Scholarships.

• Submit the completed application with attachments via email to: ganegeneral@gmail.com.
• Please include GANE Scholarship Application in subject heading of the submission email.

Application deadline:

• Completed 2024-2025 Scholarship Application must be received by November 30, 2024.
• Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection process:

• Selection will be based upon compliance with basic eligibility requirements set forth by the Georgia Association for Nursing Education.
• Applicants selected by the Scholarship Committee will be confirmed by the Board of Directors for GANE.
• Scholarships will be awarded to recipients during the 2025 GANE conference which will be held at Callaway Gardens Resort Lodge, February 27 - March 1, 2025.
