Overview
San Miguel Power awards up to $45,000 in college scholarships each year to students who are dependents of SMPA members. We typically award as many as 17 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors.
Typical schedule (what to expect each year)
These dates are the usual timeline; confirm the exact deadlines each year when applications are posted.
- Early–mid October: Scholarship information and application forms are posted (see above).
- Mid–late February: Basin Electric scholarship applications are due to San Miguel Power.
- Mid–late February: Alltricity scholarship applications are due (see the Alltricity Scholarship Foundation for details).
- Mid March: SMPA Collegiate and Vocational scholarship applications are due to San Miguel Power.
- Early April: Scholarship winners are notified.
- Mid May: Scholarships are officially awarded.
- Mid July: Scholarship checks are issued directly to the recipient institutions.
