Eddie Ashley Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Ahlsten Foundation
About Eddie Ashley
Eddie Ashley was a student of Doris Ahlsten’s at Oakland Technical High School and graduated in 2010. He and his younger twin sisters lost their mother at a young age to lupus and kidney failure. As they moved from household to household, Eddie experienced separation from his siblings, yet he carried himself without complaint—showing quiet humility, perseverance, and resilience. Eddie went on to earn a B.S. in Environmental Science from UC Riverside (2014). He lives in Oakland with his wife, Anastasia, and works as the Recycling Coordinator for Pleasanton Garbage Service, where he provides environmental education and helps businesses and multi-family properties meet waste-management regulations.
We are proud to honor his character and journey by naming this scholarship for Eddie Ashley.
