James Hamilton Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Sangre de Oro Inc.
To be considered for the scholarship, candidates must submit relevant personal records as proof of the following eligibility criteria to the chairperson of the scholarship committee or their representative.
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship
The applicant must:
- Be diagnosed with hemophilia
- Hold residency in New Mexico
- Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
Additional Requirements
In addition to the eligibility criteria, the applicant must also:
- Submit proof of having applied for student aid (FASFA)
- Demonstrate financial need, as indicated by the FASFA form
- Provide proof of having applied to at least two other sources of financial aid
- Submit a copy of a high school diploma or GED
- Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance for enrollment in a degree or certificate program
- Submit a completed scholarship application form to Sangre de Oro, Inc.
- Provide a reference letter from a non-family member who knows the applicant well
- Undergo a personal interview with the scholarship committee or chairperson
Requirements for Scholarship Renewal
To be considered for scholarship renewal, the applicant must maintain satisfactory academic progress. This is defined as maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5 out of a possible 4.0. An official transcript showing final, current grades must be submitted when requesting a renewal of the scholarship. If the GPA falls below 2.5, the applicant can reapply the following semester!
