MBA InternConnect Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Missouri Bankers Association
The Missouri Bankers Foundation has established the MBA InternConnect Scholarship Program with the aim of inspiring college sophomores and juniors, who are majoring in banking-related disciplines, to consider a career in the Missouri banking industry. Each year, the foundation will grant up to five scholarships, each worth $1,000, to students who have successfully completed an internship at an MBA-member bank within the past year. To be eligible, applicants must either be a resident of Missouri or be enrolled in a Missouri state-accredited college or university, and must have achieved at least sophomore standing in college. College seniors are also welcome to apply if they are planning to pursue graduate studies.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of an internship with an MBA-member bank within one year of the application deadline.
- Residency in Missouri or enrollment in a Missouri state-accredited college or university.
- At least sophomore standing in college; seniors may apply if they are planning to pursue graduate studies.
REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS
Applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for the scholarship:
- A completed scholarship application form.
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the student’s internship supervisor at the bank.
- An essay discussing the value of the internship experience, the areas of banking that most interest the student, and the reasons for this interest.
- If applicable, the syllabus of the college internship criteria, along with a list of duties assigned during the internship experience.
- A current resume.
- A college transcript.
SELECTION CRITERIA AND PROCESS
The selection committee of the Missouri Bankers Foundation will base their decision on the successful completion of an internship with an MBA-member bank. While academic achievement and extracurricular activities will be considered, greater emphasis will be placed on the letters of recommendation, the essay, and factors directly related to the banking internship experience. The selection committee will make their decisions on a nondiscriminatory basis, and their decisions are final and binding.
Successful applicants will be notified by December 2025 and their names will be published in The Missouri Banker magazine. The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s college or university.
